Described herein is a cellular marker, MyD88, useful for assessing an individual's (patient's) sensitivity (or resistance) to chemotherapy, particularly sensitivity (or resistance) to chemotherapeutic drugs, such as plant alkaloids (e.g., a taxane, such as paclitaxel or docetaxel).
