An energy recovery device is provided. The device comprises a charge unit for discharging the energy stored in it to electrodes of discharge cells of a plasma display panel; a discharge unit for discharge the energy of electrodes of discharge cells of a plasma display panel to the charge unit so that the energy is stored and a control unit for controlling the charge unit to be charged and/or controlling the discharge unit to discharge.
