Disclosed is a sound recording apparatus comprising a microphone (1) that can be actuated using a switch (5), an audio signal memory (3) that is connected to the microphone by means of an analog-digital converter (2), and a reading device (7) for the memory (3), said reading device (7) being mounted upstream of a processing stage (6) for the audio signals. In order to create simple design conditions, the microphone (1) forms a structural unit (8) along with the actuating switch (5), the analog-digital converter (2), and the memory (3). Said structural unit (8) is arranged in a housing (13) and comprises an interface plug (10) that is to be connected to the reading device (7) which is part of a separate appliance (9) and has a downstream processing stage (6).
