An apparatus and a method for detecting signal using multivariate polynomial in multiple input multiple output communication system are provided to reduce the complexity of the calculation than non-linear detection method by performing signal detection using multivariate polynomial. A plurality of RF receivers(110-1 through 110-N) down-converts RF band signals received through each antenna to baseband signals. A plurality of RF receivers provides the training symbol and data signal received through a plurality of antennae to the signal detector(120). The signal detector detects transmission signals from each for each antenna received signals provided from a plurality of RF receivers. Particularly, the signal detector spreads the received signal vector out the multivariate polynomial. In that way the transmission signal vector is detected. A channel estimator(130) estimates channel with the transmitting end using a predetermined signal. An interference canceller(140) is detected from the signal detector, the stream much interference component is removed.
