OXYLIPIN BIOSYNTHESIS-RELATED GENE DGL HAVING GALACTOLIPASE ACTIVITY

An oxylipin biosynthesis-related gene DGL having galactolipase activity is provided to identify galactolipase gene, which shows similar characteristics to micro algae and moss, thereby mass-producing useful materials. An oxylipin biosynthesis-related gene DGL having galactolipase activity comprises amino acid sequence indicated as SEQ ID NO:2. The DGL protein exists in chloroplast. A gene encoding the DGL protein has base sequence indicated as SEQ ID NO:1. A protein having galactolipase activity associated with chloroplast of plants and micro algae has more than 50% similarity between its amino acid sequence and that of the DGL protein. Biodiesel fuel is produced by expressing the DGL protein in chloroplast of the micro algae.
