CONVEYOR APPARATUS WITH AUTOMATICALLY ADJUSTING CONVEYOR WIDTH AND METHOD THEREOF

An apparatus for automatically controlling the width of a conveyor and a method thereof are provided to facilitate controlling the width of each conveyor even in case conveyors having different shapes are installed and connected. An apparatus for automatically controlling the width of a conveyor comprises a fixed frame(16), a changeable frame(14), a lead screw(18,18'), a synchronization belt(20), a substrate feeding motor(24), a sensor(30), a width adjusting motor(22) and a controller. A pair of lead screws are supported to be rotated between the fixed frame and the changeable frame. The synchronization belt is connected to the lead screw and synchronizes the rotation of the screw. The substrate feeding motor provides the driving force to transfer a substrate. The sensor is connected to one end of the changeable frame. The width adjusting motor is connected to the lead screw and rotates the lead screw. The controller is connected to the width adjusting motor and the sensor and controls the operation of the width adjusting motor.
