A pointing module, a reference coordinate control method thereof and an electronic device including the pointing module are provided to automatically adjust the reference coordinate of the pointing module when booting the electronic device. A sensor(3510) detects the movement of an operation member and then outputs a sensing signal. A reference coordinate generating unit(3520) produces the reference coordinate information by using the sensing signal. A storage unit(3530) stores the reference coordinate information. A controller(3540) controls operations of the sensor, reference coordinate generating unit and storage unit. In case the location of the operation member is not changed for a preset location change sensing time, the reference coordinate generating unit generates new reference coordinate information according to a control signal of the controller.
