FIELD: technological processes.;SUBSTANCE: invention is related to methods for manufacture of ball journals by cold plastic working, at that ball journals have ball section, conical section and threaded section for installation into ball hinges. At first semi-finished product in the form of bar is used to mold ball journal blank with molded conical section and cylindrical sections. One of cylindrical sections is intended for thread making on it. The other cylindrical section is intended for giving it ball shape, and projecting ear is arranged on the side of its free end, and then ball section is formed with the help of pressing tools.;EFFECT: possibility of using cheaper grades of steel, since cold plastic working makes it possible to produce ball journals with considerably high fatigue strength.;11 cl, 8 dwg
