The sensor has a sensor element (11), and a sealing element surrounding the sensor element for separating measuring gas sided and connection sided end sections (111, 112) in a gas-tight manner. The sealing element is a ceramic body (15) sinter-fused on the sensor element. The ceramic body surrounds the sensor element. A protective sleeve (19) made of metal is attached on an end region of the ceramic body, where the end region turns away from the measuring gas sided end section. The protective sleeve is fastened into the body with its sleeve ends, where the body is made of zirconium oxide.
