Determination of linezolid-resistance in microorganisms present in a sample, comprises contacting the sample with at least an oligonucleotide-probe, which can bind under hybridization conditions to a microorganism ribosomal RNA, which exhibit a point mutation caused by linezolid-resistance and detecting the microorganisms, which are hybridized with the oligonucleotide probe and are resistance against the linezolid, contained in the sample. Independent claims are included for: (1) an oligonucleotide probe for the specific hybridization with microorganism ribosomal RNA, which can bind under hybridizing conditions to a microorganism ribosomal RNA, which exhibits a point mutation caused by linezolid resistance; and (2) a diagnostic kit comprising the oligonucleotide.
