The electro-hydraulic vehicle steering system (6) has a hydraulic circuit (8), a hydraulic pump (24), a pressure sensor (40) and cylinders or piston unit (26). An electronic control unit (18) stands in connection with a pressure sensor and controls the hydraulic pump by an engine (22). The pressure sensor is attached to the hydraulic system by a valve unit (42). The valve unit is so formed that the pressure sensor is located in connection with a working chamber, which has a high hydraulic pressure.
