The support (1) has a carrier body (2) comprising an extruded section and extending along a longitudinal direction of the support. A hollow chamber is provided in interior of the carrier body. A base plate (4) is provided in a section of the carrier body below the carrier body. The base plate is firmly connected with the carrier body. A cover element is provided above the carrier body and sectionally extends in the longitudinal direction of the support. The carrier body and another carrier body (12) exhibit cross sectional profiles symmetric to each other. An independent claim is also included for a kit for manufacturing a load support for a lifting platform.
