The arrangement (10) has a roll gap measuring device (11) for measuring a roll gap between working rollers of a cold or hot-rolling stand for rolling out narrow or broad neon metal strips. A position sensor (13) i.e. magnetostrictive sensor, is arranged in a housing (12) to transmit a signal to a controller controlling hydraulic positions, where the controller influences the roll gap. The position sensor cooperates with a magnet (14) arranged in the housing. The housing is designed as a protective housing (20) provided in centric guidance of the position sensor with respect to the magnet.
