The circuit has a power supply unit provided in a standby operation separated by relays (Rel1, Rel2) or electrically from electricity mains. Current supply of electrical components for the standby operation takes place by an accumulator or a buffer memory or an additional energy source i.e. battery. Intermediate plugs and a plug/plug socket combination interrupt a mains voltage and receive the information that whether an electrical device i.e. personal computer (PC), is provided for operation or is switched off.
