The method involves forming a sandwich from foils, holding together a sandwich with clamping units (100, 110) and stapling the foils under formation of an attached foil stack. Each foil additionally supplied to the stapled foil stack is attached separately to the foil stack. A further foil on the foils is stapled with welding unit under formation of stapled foil stacks, where the welding unit is arranged at a retaining unit (12). The sandwich is conveyed to a target position in an assembling machine (10). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a stapling device for attaching foils in a foil stack (2) an assembling machine for attaching a foil in a foil stack.
