The method involves pre-positioning of lenses (13-18) by a rotational adjustment of a lens revolver (10) until reaching a rough position, which lies within a boundary of a fine positioning region. An accurate positioning of the lenses is performed by period adjustment of sensor output signals of a contactless sensor device with a reference valve of an exact position, where the reference valve is associated with the respective lens and the sensor output signals express the actual position. An independent claim is also included for a device for aligned positioning of lenses on a common optical axis.
