The vehicle (1) has a compressed air system (3) with an air compressor (4), which is connected with an internal-combustion engine (2) in a driven manner by a gearbox (5) with a changeable gear transmission ratio. The gearbox is actuated by a gearbox controller (6) depending on an engine speed. The gearbox controller actuates the gearbox depending on the engine speed such that the controller increases a pump rotation speed to a low engine speed when the pump rotation speed is reduced to a high engine speed.
