The device has a reference point (RP) for calibrating a sensor (3) of a vehicle (1), which is arranged on a conveyor (2) and is transportable by the conveyor, where the reference point is designed as an optical marking, a transmitting unit, a receiving unit or a transponder. The reference point is arranged on the conveyor in a constant position with respect to the vehicle during the calibration, where the reference point is moved with speed (v) of the vehicle in the constant position. An independent claim is also included for a method for calibrating a sensor of a vehicle.
