The method involves independently moving reference sensor devices (3.1-3.n) spaced apart from each other. The time synchronized measurement data (D1-Dn) of each positions and parameters of reference sensor devices (2) are independently determined during the movement, for generating reference data (RD), based on synchronization signal (SS). The sensor device is calibrated, based on the comparison of the reference data with sensor data (SD) of the sensor device. An independent claim is included for device for calibration of sensor device.
