The system has an electromechanical coupling/decoupling mechanism (40) with a mechanical system for torque amplification and an electromechanical brake (43) coupled to a less torque side of the mechanical system. Half bars (21, 22) are coupled to a high torque side of the mechanical system. The mechanism does not have an electrical motor to drive in rotation the half bar (21) relative to the half bar (22). An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle including an electromechanical semi-active roll control system.
