The device has a light beam source support (a) pointing towards a measurement window (b) for receiving a light source e.g. lasermeter, of the window. A reading board (d) is slid on a reading board support (c), and a reading scale (e) is received for reading thicknesses of measurement. The reading scale is adapted to construction angles, geometry of the device and to refraction indexes of layers to be measured. Known angle of an incidence of the light beam is maintained on a surface of a product to be controlled.
