The device has two support elements (51, 52) articulated with respect to each other and arranged to be mounted on both sides of an articulation of a body portion e.g. phalanx, of a finger of a user. A sensor e.g. linear taper potentiometer, senses a relative angular position of the elements that are associated to connection units such as sheath (72) and a sliding cable (71), for connecting an apparatus to control the apparatus based on the position of the elements. The sheath receives the sliding cable, where the sheath and the cable have an end connected to one of the elements.
