The arrangement has an exhaust line including a section (12) attached to a casing (24) by an intermediate of a plate (34), which is fixed on a wall (36) of the casing. The casing is fixed to an engine block of a motor vehicle. A gear box has a transversal drive shaft maintained and guided in rotation by intermediary of a main bearing received in the casing. Openings (58) opened in a free transversal edge (62) of the wall of the casing allows introduction of the section in longitudinal direction.
