The equipment has a 3-dimension accelerometer (11) exposed to acceleration of a vehicle and installed in the vehicle. A microprocessor (10) is connected to the accelerometer, and defines coordinate systems (0, x0, y0, z0) oriented along main directions of the vehicle to define longitudinal and transverse components of the acceleration from data provided by the accelerometer. The microprocessor is functioned with an orientation program (13) and a driving parameter recording program (15) defining the acceleration in the system and recording the components of the acceleration in the system.
