Steering controlling device for motor vehicle i.e. car, has elaborating unit elaborates set point of steering angle, where set point is elaborated from measured wheel angle, gap, and corrective term representing rolling conditions
The device (1) has a subtracter (16) determining a gap between a wheel angle desired by a driver and a measured wheel angle. A variation direction evaluating unit i.e. force derivation block (8), evaluates a variation direction of a force undergone by wheels of a motor vehicle i.e. car. A set point elaborating unit (21) elaborates a set point of a steering angle to be applied to wheels of the vehicle, where the set point is elaborated from the measured wheel angle, the gap, and a corrective term representing rolling conditions according to an evolution of the force undergone by the wheels. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling steering of wheels of a front or rear axle of a motor vehicle.
