METHOD OF ASSEMBLING SPLIT-TYPE RETAINER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure connection by a connecting pin in a split-type retainer made of a synthetic resin.;SOLUTION: A split-type retainer 18 made of a synthetic resin is structured by connecting a pair of annular split bodies 30 divided in the axial direction with a connecting pin 32 passed through in the axial direction and is provided with a plurality of pockets 28 spaced in the circumferential direction to accommodate balls 16 of a roller bearing 10. A method of assembling the split-type retainer includes a process in which the connecting pin 32 made of the synthetic resin is inserted into through holes 34 penetrating each split body 30 in the axial direction and a process in which at least one end of the connecting pin 32 is melted to form a head 38a that engages with a peripheral edge 34a of an opening of the through holes 34.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
