PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective water-bloom propagation suppressing method at low cost by radically suppressing the generation of a water bloom in a closed water region such as a dam lake and lake.;SOLUTION: This water-bloom propagation suppressing method includes a bottom mud exposing step of exposing the bottom mud of a water storage pond by lowering the water level of the water storage pond a predetermined depth from an average operating level in a non-water discharge period, a bottom mud drying step of drying the exposed bottom mud for a predetermined period by the bottom mud exposing step after the bottom mud exposing step, and a bottom mud removal step of removing the bottom mud dried by the bottom mud drying step a predetermined depth from the surface. By this method, micro cystis which is the species generating the water bloom are removed. Consequently, even if a time when the water bloom propagates comes in the next year, the water bloom does not propagate since the micro cystis generating the water bloom has been removed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
