PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine precisely leakage from a CO₂ storage layer.;SOLUTION: An on-the-sea part 30 which is loaded on a ship and controlled directly by a measuring person operates remotely an undersea part 20. The undersea part 20 is inputted into the sea where leakage CO₂ is to be detected. When existence of bubbles or the like 103 is determined, or when PH is equal to or lower than a prescribed value, an undersea control part 22 or an on-the-sea control part 32 recognizes that there is a possibility of existence of CO₂. In this case, the undersea control part 22 allows a sampling part (sample collection part) 24 to sample the sea water of this part. A first analysis part 34 determines whether a CO₂ component actually exists therein or not. When CO₂ is detected, a second analysis part 35 performs mass spectrometry to the collected CO₂, and calculates an abundance ratio (isotopic ratio) of ¹³C/¹²C thereof.
