PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify with a simple configuration whether another vehicle including a source of light emitted onto the face of a driver is a succeeding vehicle or an oncoming vehicle.;SOLUTION: Driver image information indicating an image including the face of the driver driving his or her own vehicle is obtained to determine whether or not the brightness of the image at a predetermined part of the face of the driver be at a predetermined value or higher. When the brightness in the image at the predetermined part of the face of the driver is determined to be at the predetermined value or higher, based on the driver image information, the brightness difference between the image at the predetermined part of the face of the driver and the image at a predetermined part to be compared with the predetermined part is obtained. If the brightness difference is above a predetermined reference value, it is determined that the source of light emitted onto the face of the driver may be included in the succeeding vehicle of his or her own vehicle. If the brightness difference is below the predetermined reference value, it is determined that the source of light emitted onto the face of the driver may be included in the oncoming vehicle of his or her own vehicle.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
