PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently determine optimum supply power for controlling the floating height of a magnetic head during data writing to a magnetic storage medium.;SOLUTION: An MPU1 acquires gain values of servo signals during data reading from and data writing to the magnetic storage medium 5 as first and second gain values, respectively, from a RDC (Read Channel) 2. The MPU 1 controls supply power for controlling the floating height of the magnetic head 4 during data writing to the magnetic storage medium 5 on the basis of comparison result between the first and second gain values.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
