A switching mechanism for a direct connection stage is provided which alternatively connects the reaction force element and the output element of the differential mechanism on the other side which is opposite to the side where the power train for the maximum speed gear with the minimum gear ratio is provided. A direct connection stage formation means (steps S4 to S7) is provided which connects the reaction force element and the output element of the differential mechanism on the other side when the power train for the maximum speed gear is brought into a state where it transfers power to the output member, and the number of revolutions of the reaction force element and the number of revolutions of the output element of the differential mechanism on the other side are synchronized with each other.
