PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper holder which can be operated with only one hand and to which roll paper can be replenished without especially performing an unlocking operation.;SOLUTION: The figure indicates the procedure of cutting the roll paper, and the tip 14 of the roll paper is pulled up. Then, a third element 48 is rotated centering a pin 45 as shown by an arrow (a) and the tip of the upward slope 52 is engaged with the roll paper 12. With the engaged part 61 as a fulcrum, a second lid element 44 is moved as shown by an arrow b. As the result of movement as shown by the arrow b, a non-rotary shaft 28 is strongly pushed by a pushing part 43, the non-rotary shaft 28 is clamped by a hook part 41 and the pushing part 43 as a result and a lock state is established.
