PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve receiving performance in a digital broadcast transmitter and receiver. PSOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiver includes a tuner to receive a stream, a demodulating part to demodulate the stream, and an equalizing part to equalize the demodulated stream. The stream is transmitted from the digital broadcast transmitter and receiver including an interleaving part to interleave initialization bites so that the initialized bites are arranged in a second direction perpendicular to a first direction in comparison with a stream having a structure in which the initialization bites are arranged in the first direction.
