Surface shape distortion amount calculation method and apparatus in molding process simulation

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make accurate calculation possible on the extent of surface profile distortion generated on a sheet material at the time of its plastic deformation. PSOLUTION: A pseudo machining is performed on an article to be molded (article) under prescribed molding conditions, with the stress distribution calculated on the article at an arbitrary point of time in machining (S11-S14); on the basis of the stress distribution so calculated, the width shrinkage of the article is calculated (S15); and, on the basis of the width shrinkage so calculated, surface profile distortion of each part of the article is calculated to display the result of the decision (S16-S20).
