PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for applying voltage to a photo-addressable type display element which contributes to the miniaturization of a power source device and the reduction of its cost, by reducing the breakdown voltage required for a switching element, to provide a power source device, and to provide a driving device for the photo-addressable type display element which uses the power source device.;SOLUTION: The method for applying voltage to the photo-addressable type display element is provided, in which a ±V volt rectangular wave pulse is combined, by switching the direct current voltage of +V volt and -V volt output from output converters, respectively, and the rectangular wave pulse is applied as a bias voltage to the photo-addressable type display element, to which an image is written by the irradiation with an address light, while the bias voltage is applied to the element. In the method, the repeated switching between the +V volt and -V volt of the rectangular wave pulse is performed, in such a way that the switching goes via grounding midway and the output voltage of the output converter, becoming a non-selection side converter, after being switched, is changed to substantially 0 volt, and then the switching to the other converter is performed. The power source device and the drive device for the photo-addressable type display element which uses the power source device are also provided.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
