PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound, showing excellent functions in various technical areas, e.g. selective separation of useful materials, being chemically stabilized, made non-volatile, released slowly or easily powdered, by including a specific dihydroxytriazine as the component compound. SOLUTION: This molecular compound comprises (A) a component compound of dihydroxytriazine derivative shown by the formula [R1 to R7 are each H, a halogen, OH, mercapto, amino, (saturated) 1-8C alkyl or the like; X is an unsubstituted group, sulfonyl, sulfinyl, thio, oxy or the like; and Y is oxy, thio or imino] and (B) a compound which can form a molecular compound with the component compound (A), e.g. toluene. A molecular compound means a compound composed of two or more component compounds, each of which can stably exist as a compound, bound to each other via a relatively weak interaction (e.g. hydrogen bonding or van der Waals force) other than covalent bond. Examples of these compounds include hydrates, solvates, adducts and clathrate compounds.
