PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing disease of chestnuts via warm-water treatment comprising soaking harvested chestnuts in warm water to surely prevent anthrax disease and black vascular fruit rot without spoiling their quality. PSOLUTION: The method for preventing disease of chestnuts via warm-water treatment comprises the following process: washing harvested chestnuts with water to remove dirt at their surfaces and foreign substances adhering to the chestnuts; soaking the washed chestnuts into warm water at 40-60°C for 10-60 min followed by soaking the soaked chestnuts in cold water at around ≤20°C for almost 10-20 min to cool the chestnuts; and subjecting the chestnuts to temperature change treatment through the series of treatment to wipe out or inactivate the anthrax disease and the black vascular fruit rot with which the chestnuts are infected.
