PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a binder not needing the employment of an organic solvent, having good ceramic slurry dispersibility and capable of controlling flowability by adding an acrylic emulsion and a water-soluble acrylic resin. ;SOLUTION: This binder contains an acrylic emulsion and a water-soluble acrylic resin. The acrylic emulsion preferably comprises the copolymer of a hydrophobic component as a main component with an auxiliary component comprising at least one of 0.01-10 mol.% (based on the main component) of a carboxyl group-containing reactive monomer, 0.1-30 mol.% of an acrylic acid (methacrylic acid) alkyl ester wherein the alkyl group has a hydroxyl group, and 0. l-30 mol.% of an acrylic acid (methacrylic acid) alkyl ester wherein the alkyl group contains an alkylene oxide of the formula: (RO)n [R is one of methyl group, ethyl group and propylene group; 1≤(n)≤40].
