PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of degradation of image quality or blurs or partial fixing defects of image, which is caused by the variance of toner spread area in respective parts of toner transferred and fixed to a recording medium.;SOLUTION: Particulates of an unfixed image formed with powdery particulate toner transferred to a transfer and fixing belt 13 are at least partially bound into one body, by passing between a pair of toner integrating rollers 24 and 25, and a surface side brought into contact with a paper P, of the united toner is heated by a halogen heater 15 to give an adhesive property required for fixing. Therefore, the temperature of a surface side, coming into contact with the transfer and fixing belt 13 of the toner, is not made as high as that of the surface side coming into contact with the paper P, and the variance of toner spread area is small though the toner is pressurized in a fixing nip part NP and is transferred and fixed. Consequently, a proper image quality is obtained. Since toner particulates are enlarged by uniting, they do not enter into the recessed parts of the paper surface, and blurs or partial fixing defects of an image are prevented.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
