PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a deviation in recording position of an image by detecting a transfer positional shift of a recording medium.;SOLUTION: The printer comprises a control part. A width size when a marker 11 is carried to pass a position opposed to each sensor 14 is calculated from a front edge 11a and a rear edge 11b of the marker 11 detected by each sensor 14. An average width size of the marker 11 is calculated by this width size and a width size of the marker 11 calculated before this width size is calculated. A difference between the width size and the average width size is calculated. At the same time, a standard deviation of the width size of the marker 11 is calculated on the basis of the difference.
