PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resolution compression method wherein an error generated by round-off of a lower bit or carry of a medial magnitude or higher is improved, in resolution compression processing of waveform data of a waveform display device such as a digital oscilloscope.;SOLUTION: In this resolution compression method for compressing the lower bit of the waveform data, the lower bits to be compressed are integrated, and correction for adding '+1' to a higher bit is executed at the carry time as the result of integration.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
