An object of the present invention is to elucidate the role of the PRDM family in cancer, and to provide a novel cancer therapeutic agent and cancer detection method related to PRDM. The subject is based on the expression level of PRDM14 gene in a biological sample obtained from a subject and a therapeutic agent for breast cancer or ovarian cancer comprising PRDM14 gene expression inhibitor or PRDM14 inhibitor. Solved by a method of detecting breast or ovarian cancer in said subject.
