PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for refining an electrophotographic photoreceptor material with which its electric characteristic is improved by identifying an impurity imparting most adverse effect on the electric characteristic of the electrophotographic photoreceptor and efficiently removing the impurity while avoiding repetition of the refining step in pursuing high purity and having no need to fabricate the electrophotographic photoreceptor and to measure its electric characteristic for every manufacture.;SOLUTION: In the method for refining the electrophotographic photoreceptor material, its electric characteristic is improved by reducing a content of an aromatic amine compound, which is the impurity and which has a phenylenediamine substructure expressed by a general formula (2) (in the formula, R2, R3, R4 and R5 are optionally identical to or different from one another and express a hydrogen atom, a 1-4C alkyl group, a 1-4C alkoxy group, or a halogen atom, wherein R2 and R3 or R4 and R5 may optionally be bonded to each other so as to form a ring) in its molecule, to ≤0.50 mass %.
