SILVER / WATER, SILVER GELS AND SILVER BASED COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR THEIR PRODUCTION AND APPLICATION

A colorless composition containing metal particles (eg, silver nanoparticles) and water is described, in which said particles contain an inner portion of an elemental metal (eg, silver) and an outer portion of metal oxide (eg, one or more silver oxides), in which the nanoparticles metal present in water at a level of about 5-40 ppm, and while the composition exhibits significant antimicrobial properties. Describes how to use the composition. The composition may be included in the hydrogel, essentially without loss of antimicrobial properties. Also described are various metal containing compositions with unexpected biological efficacy.
