A semicircular fibular periosteal stripper and the surgical technique. A semicircular fibular periosteal stripper has three components (i) semicircular periosteal stripper (ii) flexible shaft (iii) handle (i) Semicircular Periosteal Stripper: In this invention this is the main periosteal stripping part of this instrument which is hollow, semicircular and cylindrical in shape. It has a longitudinal slit of 2 mm in one side between two flanges which embrace the fibula. The front part is cutting edge and it is sharp used for stripping / elevating of periosteam from all around the fibula. This part is 20 mm in length. It has variable size of 8 mm, 9 mm, 10 mm and 11 mm in diameter. And the back part is blunt and attached to the flexible shaft diametrically opposite to the longitudinal slit. (ii) Flexible Shaft This is the middle part of the invented instrument which is long, solid and circular in structure in a shape of a rod flexible in nature attached with the back part of the semicircular periosteal stripper in one end and in the other end with the handle. The diameter of this part is 5 mm and it has variable length size of 260 mm, 280 mm, 300 mm, and 320 mm. This part is used for advancement of the main periosteal stripper remaining safe and staying close to the bone and for its flexible in nature it can be manipulated well in this invented minimal invasive technique for biological harvesting of fibular graft. (iii) Handle This is the end part of the invented instrument which is cylindrical, solid, 100 mm in length, 30 mm in diameter having criss cross serration all around the cylindrical surface. This part of the invention is for a stable grip and manipulation of the invented instrument suitable for the invented surgical technique. This part is attached with the tail end of the flexible shaft centrally in a conical tapered down fashion in one end and round at the other end. The component (i) and (ii) is made up of stainless steel and the component no.(iii) is made up of aluminium.
