TECHNIQUE FOR ORGAN-SPARING ARREST OF MASSIVE UTERINE OBSTETRIC BLEEDING

A technique for organ-sparing arrest of the massive uterine obstetric bleeding comprises laparotomy and the ligation of the ovarian and internal iliac arteries. After laparotomy, the uterus is extended from the abdominal cavity, and its posterior wall is subjected to the local hypothermia. The internal iliac artery is dissected and ligated on both sides. Then infusion and transfusion therapy continues with intraoperative pause until the normalization of the uterine tonus and the stabilization of hemodynamics.
