The device has lower and upper retention units (24, 36) for retaining a pipe (18) from inside, and an upper hooking unit coupled with the lower retention unit (24) across a section (16) of the pipe, where the retentions units have a locking sleeve (26). The pipe section (16) is connected to a lower hooking unit and engages with the upper retention unit, after the pipe section is connected assembled and submerged. An independent claim is also included for a process of installing tubular pipes.
