The invention relates to the area of chemistry and involves a method for solid-liquid separation of suspensions containing solids, mostly non-aqueous suspensions, such as can be used in the semiconductor electronics field or in the solar industry for recycling solid suspensions containing glycol. The objective of the present solution is in providing a method of solid-liquid separation of suspensions containing solids, mostly non-aqueous suspensions, said method providing a means to achieve nearly complete separation. The objective is met by a method for solid-liquid separation of suspensions containing solids, mostly non-aqueous suspensions, in which polyelectrolyte(s) are added to a suspension containing a solid, mostly a non-aqueous suspension, wherein an amount of polyelectrolyte is added that substantially compensates the charge level of the suspensions containing solids, mostly non-aqueous suspensions.
