An element designed to provide shelter for both fry and adult fish, influence currents and control the marine dynamics of the surrounding area by attracting a large number of the small organisms that sustain various marine species and thereby increasing the productivity of nearby fisheries. The artificial element (1) is made of solid portions and has rounded edges to withstand the harsh marine environment. Said element is hexagonal in shape and designed for use at a depth of 15-25 metres, where the swell is not so strong. The upper portion or slab (5) has six triangular apertures (4) with rounded edges, one in each sector of the hexagon. The lower portion or slab (2) of the element is larger than the upper one and compact to impart greater mechanical strength to the element (1). The central or intermediate portion has six cylinders between the angles and a further cylinder in the middle of said portions.
