The device for measuring the relative humidity on the inside (12) of a vehicle (10) is provided with a condensation sensor (28) for detecting moisture precipitated on a condensation surface (16) on the inside (12) of the vehicle (10) and with a condensation surface temperature sensor (30) for measuring the temperature of the condensation surface (16). The device further comprises a moisture sensor (32) for measuring the relative humidity of the air on the inside (12) of the vehicle (10) and an air temperature sensor (34) for measuring the temperature of the air on the inside (12) of the vehicle (10). The device is provided with an evaluation unit (26), which receives the signals of all sensors and, for the purpose of calibrating the moisture sensor (32), associates the output signal of the moisture (32), which the moisture sensor emits if moisture that has precipitated on the condensation surface (16) is detected by the condensation sensor (28), with the relative humidity that is obtained by computation from the output signals of the condensation surface temperature sensor (30) present in this state and the air temperature sensor (34).
